Vancouver GPR

FAQs

Questions, answered directly

What people ask before booking an investigation, including what we can and cannot do.

Can GPR see through any concrete?

No. Heavily reinforced, wet or thick concrete reduces depth and clarity. The report states what was resolvable and what was not.

Is GPR the same as X-ray?

No. X-ray images through concrete but requires access to both sides and radiation controls. GPR scans from one side and is safer and faster, with different limits.

Will you cut the concrete?

No. We mark and document; coring, cutting and drilling are performed by your contractor.

Can you find post-tension cables?

Yes, cable paths are detectable in most slabs and are marked with caution margins, but dense mesh can obscure individual strands.

How deep can you scan?

Typically 20-40 cm in reinforced concrete, deeper in unreinforced or soil conditions. Actual depth depends on material and moisture.

Do you replace BC 1 Call locates?

No. Statutory locates remain required for excavation; our surveys complement them, especially for private-side services.

How do I book?

Call (604) 269-5325 or email [email protected] with the location and scope, and you will get a reply within one business day.
